All of us have things that we value and consider as precious. They may be in the form of money, relationships, opinions, honor or any materialistic thing. They all form a treasure in our heart. The Bible says in Luke 6:45 "A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil."

According to the parable of the seed and the sower Jesus relates the word of God as a seed and the heart as a land. The word is sown in our heart. Every time God gives His word; He also gives the understanding in the word. But we are habitually inclined more to our interests, desires, or we succumb to pain and pressure, that we often lose the understanding that God has given us. We need to guard the seed (word ) and the understanding in it so that the word produces thirty, sixty and a hundred-fold blessing.

The Bible says that God blessed Job and he was the richest man in all the people of the East. The word which he hid in his heart formed God's standards inside him. So, God challenged satan on the standard of the word inside Job "Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil?" ( Job 1:8). Satan took up the challenge and destroyed everything that Job had from the greatest of his possessions to his family and his health. But, since Job's treasure was the Word but not His riches he clinged to the integrity and the righteousness of God's word inside him. Even in his adversity Job said "Till I die I will not put away my integrity from me. My righteousness I hold fast, and will not let it go; My heart shall not reproach me as long as I live. " (Job 27:4-5) For the Bible says in Luke 6:45 " For out of the abundance of a man's heart his mouth speaks"

God has called us to be blessed. God gives us His wisdom and His understanding to be blessed in this world. How can we get the wisdom and understanding of God? The Bible says in Job 28:28 "….. fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, And to depart from evil is understanding." Psalms 34:11-14 speaks about the fear of the Lord "Keep your tongue from evil, And your lips from speaking deceit. Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it." Tongue is the ordinary language that we speak to our friends and family. Lips is the skillful language that we use to prove that we are right, to cover our mistake, to let others down etc.. The meaning of evil says possessing injurious nature or qualities; characterised by calamity, trouble or sorrow; contrary to the divine or righteous law. The meaning of deceit speaks about being misled by falsehood. Falsehood is the lack of accord to truth or fact. Accord is the settlement of differences. For example: In our workplace or family there may be difference in opinions or something may go wrong. We need to analyse the matter and check the truth present on either sides. If the other person is 20% right we need to go to him and speak to the person that he is 20% right .In that way we settle the difference. In Proverbs 19:8 the Bible says "He who gets wisdom loves his own soul; He who keeps understanding will find good." The wisdom makes you love your decisions in the inside and the understanding will make you find good in every area.

The Bible says in Romans 10:8-11 "The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart….. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." The Word in your heart is accounted to righteousness and what you speak becomes a decree. So, make the word your treasure, keep the understanding in it and guard that language so that you inherit the blessing that God has instored for you
